The Season of Lent

Starts: February 10 @ 8:00am
Ends: March 27 @ 3:00pm

The Lenten season begins Ash Wednesday, February 10, and runs through Easter.
At FUMC we will begin our Lenten season with two reflective Ash Wednesday services on February 10th in Wesley Hall. The first service coincides with our first Lenten Lunch at noon. The evening service will begin at 7pm. Both services will include the imposition of ashes.

Lenten Lunches will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 10th. Bring your own lunch, and we will have a very informal service of music and a lesson. FUMC will provide drinks and dessert. Lenten Lunches will be every Wednesday at noon in Wesley Hall. The final lunch will be March 23rd.

PALM SUNDAY—Sunday, March 20, 2016
Regular traditional services at FUMC at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m.
No Children’s or Youth Sunday School;
Palms in the Park at 10:30 a.m. Stay for hot dogs, games, and free train rides after the service.

MAUNDY THURSDAY at FUMC—Thursday, March 24, 2016
Gruene will assist FUMC at Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 p.m. Childcare available.

GOOD FRIDAY—Friday, March 25, 2016
FUMC will assist Gruene UMC (2629 Common St.) at Good Friday Service at 6:30 p.m.

EASTER EVE SUNSET SERVICE—Saturday, March 26, 2016
FUMC Youth will lead a reflective service outside beginning at 6:00 p.m.

EASTER SUNDAY—Sunday, March 27, 2016
Be sure to bring your cut flowers for the Flowering of the Cross.
Traditional Services will be held at 8:00 and 11:00 a.m.
Contemporary Service will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Children’s Sunday School will be held during the 9:30 a.m. service ONLY.
For those who are able, please park at Miller & Miller to allow for any guests to park closer to the Sanctuary and also, if your normal church service is 11:00, please try to attend the earlier 8:00 service so that we can be assured there will be spaces available for ALL our guests.
