The following is a letter Pastor Jason received from Ruben Saenz Jr., SWTX Director of Connection Ministries, who visited our 9:45 am worship service on September 21st.  We did not know he was going to be joining us!  This is his review of our service:

Jason,

I’ve visited over 50 SWTX conference congregations in the past 3 years, so I have some frame of reference with regard to a sense of a congregation’s well-being and spiritual energy. First New Braunfels is a vibrant church. The spiritual energy level and excitement of the people at FUMCNB is palpable.

– Your website is contemporary and user friendly
– Your newsletter clearly communicates NB’s mission and vision
– Your grounds are impeccable and your parking lot is clean
– Your signs are clear and gave good direction
– I was graciously welcomed at the door. I even got a free flu shot!
– The music was vibrant and worship was spiritually warming
– The folks in the sanctuary during the passing of the peace were genuinely welcoming and friendly
– People were smiling, fellowshipping, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company all throughout the building
– The announcements were classy, informative, short and to the point
– The bulletin was clean, informative, and easy to follow
– An attendance book was passed to me for signature
– I really liked the presentation of bibles to 3rd graders and your accompanying comments
– I was blessed to see generational and racial/cultural diversity in the congregation
– Your message was biblically based, forceful, challenging, formative, and spiritually inspiring.
– Your explanation of the “why” for Casa Hermosa was extremely well done as was your introduction of Javier Leyva

Overall, I had a great worship experience at a historic church that is moving confidently in God’s future through your leadership.

FNB is a teaching church that’s on the “grow” with much to offer other congregations seeking vitality. Keep up the great work!

Fuego!
