FUMC is seeking a Director of Visual Arts and Social Media

Reports to: Senior Pastor

Primary Purpose: One paid staff person is needed to oversee a ministry team to deal with the present demands of all the AV equipment and future hopes for a more media-driven programming and ministry goals. Although it is doubtful that one person would have the expertise to cover all equipment needs, she/he could form a team which encompasses a variety of volunteers with a variety of skills.

Qualifications: Disciple of Jesus Christ who is actively growing in the faith.

Education/Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver’s license and background check as required by church policy.

Experience: Visual art and social media background helpful but not required.

Major Responsibilities and Duties: Work in conjunction with all of the ministry teams of the church.

Specific Responsibilities: Protection and oversight of the church’s investments in AV and electronic equipment is needed.

Scheduling: You will be responsible for scheduling various equipment, events, and church presentations, but also on hand for set-up and trouble-shooting.

Sunday Morning Services: There is also a need for someone to be in the sanctuary during all three Sunday morning worship services to monitor the sound system and media presentations and to videotape the services.

Wesley Hall Media: At least several people need to have the knowledge to set-up and operate the Media system for events held in Wesley Hall.

The Church Website: The website is being used more and more frequently by prospective members and needs to be maintained and updated weekly. We currently have someone in mind to be the webmaster, but this person would oversee its quality.

Church Facebook Page: Keep updated and maintained and also be able to respond to messages after hours.

Create ProPresenter: Since ProPresenter is used more frequently, one person needs to have the ability to create and input these presentations.

Create and maintaining Volunteers to run visual arts ministry in worship services.

Adobe Creative Suite: Photo Shop, Illustrator, After Effects (for slides)

Audacity or some other audio recording software for podcast.

WordPress or website.

Mac OS

Microsoft Office Suite

Vision: For growing our visual arts and social media ministries.

Create, Order, Maintain, & Display church banners.

Cantata: A worship ministry that takes place twice a year that needs 4-6 weeks of preparation time and being present for all 3 services on Cantata Services (very intense time).

Service on Committees:
Attend church staff meetings every Monday morning.
Attend monthly Worship Committee Meetings.
Report to Administrative Council.
Attend annual church conference.

Budget: Plan and work within budget for this ministry area.
