The Wesley Nurse program spans more than 80 sites throughout South Texas and is Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc.’s largest geographic outreach program.

The professional practice of the Wesley Nurse is not limited to the physical dimension of medical needs; rather, it includes a mind, body and spirit holistic approach. A key component Wesley Nurses undertake in their communities is providing health education, health promotion and facilitation of resources. We assist individuals and communities in achieving improved health and wellness through self-empowerment and access to healthcare resource information.

Methodist Healthcare Ministries
The Wesley Nurse program is an outreach ministry of Methodist Healthcare Ministry.
The mission of Methodist Healthcare Ministries is “Serving Humanity to Honor God” by improving the physical, mental and spiritual health of those least served in the Rio Texas Conference area of The United Methodist Church. The mission also includes Methodist Healthcare Ministries’ one-half ownership of the Methodist Healthcare System – the largest healthcare system in South Texas. This creates a unique avenue to ensure the Methodist Healthcare System continues to be a benefit to the community by providing quality care to all and charitable care when needed, and it provides revenue to Methodist Healthcare Ministries for its programs.
Homeless Ministry
Our Wesley Nurse collects laundry soap and quarters for those who need laundry services and aren’t able to afford them. If you would like to donate, please drop them off in the church office or outside the Wesley Nurse office.
The Wesley Nurse also attends Church by the River, which is a special worship service for the homeless population under the bridge at I-35 near the River Ranch RV Resort. If you would like to become involved with this service, please contact Michelle.
GriefShare
GriefShare seminars and support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. You’ll gain access to valuable GriefShare resources to help you recover from your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life.
