Partners
First United Methodist partners with Methodist Healthcare by partnering to host a Wesley nurse. The Wesley Nurse program spans more than 80 sites throughout South Texas and is Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc.’s largest geographic outreach program. The professional practice of the Wesley Nurse is not limited to the physical dimension of medical needs; rather, it includes a mind, body and spirit holistic approach. A key component Wesley Nurses undertake in their communities is providing health education, health promotion and facilitation of resources.

Family Promise is a ministry partnership between churches who take turns providing shelter and food for families who are unhoused in our city. This vital ministry is always in need of compassionate volunteers who can help welcome and support families.
Texas Ramp project builds wheelchair ramps across the state to transform the lives of old adults and adults with mobility issues. They have built over 100,000 ramps. Several times a year members of First young and old build wheelchair ramps for those in and around our community.
FUMC IMPACT Ministries
Food insecurity for children is the mission focus of FUMC. Our GAP Pack (God Always Provides) provides food for children during the day they are out of school. We partner with schools across NBISD and are currently providing food for 300 kids.
River City Work Camp is a yearly week long mission camp for our student ministry. Every year they work on different project to make a community impact in the name of Christ.
