Welcome! The Children & Family Ministry Team welcomes and invites you to participate in the many worship, study and fellowship opportunities that are available through this church.
Children are a very important part of our church family! First United Methodist Church New Braunfels is committed to providing ministries that create a Christian foundation for children.
We not only focus on children, but equip parents in their task of raising children in the Christian faith. We are here to serve you, but we encourage you to join us, to share your gifts and graces, and take an active role in this vital ministry.
We consider it a great blessing to welcome your family into our ministry at First United Methodist Church New Braunfels!
Here is what you can expect when you visit our church:
Volunteers will greet your family at our Sunday School check-in station next to the nursery. Your child will receive a nametag to wear to class. Let these volunteers know of any allergies that need to be included on your child’s nametag.
Please walk your child to his/her classroom, where they will be met by their teacher. Pick them up from their class promptly at the end of the hour (10:45 or 12:00).
Our nursery is available for all three services for ages birth through 3 years old. We have an amazing and consistent staff, certified and trained in CPR and life saving techniques, who will love your children and help them adjust to this short time away from mom and dad.
Pre-K children are encouraged to begin attending worship with their families for one service. Worship bags which help engage the kids in the service are available at the main entrances to the sanctuary. We offer a class for our pre-k aged children at 9:45 and at 11:00. While at this age they are allowed to stay in our care for two hours, since there is only one lesson, they may be brought over to the nursery for one hour of play.
Kinder-5th graders may either attend Sunday School at 9:45 or 11:00. At this age, they are allowed to spend one hour at Sunday School and expected to be in worship with their families for one hour. During Sunday School, they will go to the Glory Gathering room for a time of sharing and singing.
