INTERFAITH LUNCHEON
UWF is planning our second interfaith luncheon for June 11th with invitations being extended to women from fifteen churches of varying denominations. The theme for this year’s gathering is Collaboration—How Can We Work Together to Do God’s Will?
Last year, UWF hosted a luncheon with 7 churches participating. We learned about the outreach activities other churches are accomplishing and shared information about our programs. It was inspiring to see how much is being accomplished in our community by church women! We are extending an invitation to revisit this topic with a new purpose: To discuss possible collaborations between churches. We hope with planned, cooperative efforts to be able to maximize our impact as we address the needs of our community.
First UMC will limit our participation to those actively involved in the gathering to keep a balance between guests and hosts. Each church is invited to send up to three representatives and are welcome to display items or handouts about their projects. We hope each presentation will include thoughts about ways another church (or other churches) could help support, publicize, or participate in their programs. We anticipate another great gathering.
THE RUMMAGE SALE IS COMING!
The United Women in Faith will hold their annual rummage sale on August 7. Donation day is Wed, Aug 5. Please start saving your stuff, and remember:
We accept clean clothing and shoes in good repair, arts & crafts, books jewelry, furniture, linens, plants, yard items, kitchen items and housewares.
We do not accept computers, electronics, TV’s, mattresses, commodes, major appliances, medical equipment or anything broken or not sellable (dirty, not repairable).
Sadly, we are not able to pick up items from homes. Furniture or other heavy items are welcome but please plan to bring help for unloading. We are able to bring in lighter items and will have dollies available.
Last year we gave 6 organizations money donations that totaled $7200. In addition we donated non-cash items to 12 different organizations. We hope that you will help us reach this level and beyond this year.

The organized unit of United Women in Faith shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
In fulfillment of this purpose UWF has three meetings a month: General Meeting on the first Tuesday at 10:00 am in Room 118; Circle meetings (see schedule below) at different times during the month, and a Leadership Team meeting once a month that plans for upcoming meetings and activities.
In 2026 we will have a variety of programs that meet our purpose. We will also continue taking birthday cards and flowers (provided by Petals to Go) to the Kirkwood Manor Care Center for those having a birthday in each month. Our annual rummage sale in August will provide funds for our local mission participation. Individual circles offer many ways to participate in helping local non-profit organizations.
